GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- Blistering centuries from Avishkar Sewkarran and Dhanpaul Chrisnanand powered Cavaliers to a 203-run win over Rising Stars in the semi-finals of the BVI Cricket Association (BVICA) T20 Tournament at Greenland Playfield on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Cavaliers will play RTW Falcons in the final after Falcons disposed of Royal Knights by 5 wickets in the other semi-final game on Sunday at the same venue.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat proved to be the perfect call for Cavaliers as they raced to 281 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

Aggressive opening batsman Avishkar Sewkarran punished the Rising Stars bowlers, as he slammed 133 from just 51 balls. His majestic innings was laced with 5 fours and a whopping 16 sixes.

Number 3 batsman Dhanpaul Chrisnanand was also in carnage mode, as he blasted 116 runs from 52 balls, decorated with 12 fours and 9 sixes.

Charam Nourang and Roshan Hushman had two wickets each, bowling for Rising Stars.

Replying to the Cavaliers’ daunting total, Rising Stars folded for 78 off just 13.2 overs.

Only Suraj Jaimangal (15 runs) and Dave Pyroo (15 runs) spent a little time at the crease.

Chrisnanand returned to bag 4 wickets for 21 runs off 4 overs.

Sewkarran then wrapped up a Man of the Match performance by picking up 4 wickets for 23 runs off 3.2 overs.

RTW Falcons defeat Royal Knights

In the second semi-final, RTW Falcons won the toss and sent in Royal Knights to bat first.

Royal Knights were restricted to 174 for 9 off 20.0 overs, although Ameri Hinds (53 runs) and Keion De Jesus (54) registered half-centuries.

Joel Williams ended with figures of 4 wickets for 25 runs from 4 overs while Roy Caines picked up 3 wickets for 31 runs from 4 overs.

RTW Falcons then achieved victory on 178 for 5 from 18.4 overs.

Austin McDowall top scored with 52 runs, Joel Williams scored 37 runs and Orlando Ollivierre was unbeaten on 20.

Julian St Clair snared 2 wickets in a losing effort.

The final and third-place games will be played on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
